School of Philology is a division of Ural Institute of Humanities that trains the next generation of specialists in the area of philology. It is widely recognized as one of the leading schools in the area.
The School publishes “Problems of Onomastics”, a peer-review academic journal, in cooperation with the V.V. Vinogradov Russian Language Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The folklore and toponymic expeditions are operating on a permanent basis. The School have two dissertation councils: “Russian Literature” and “The Russian Language”, “Theory of language” and “Literature of peoples abroad”.
