In 2016 the application for participation in Erasmus + Jean Monnet Chair programme submitted by the Department of Theory and History of international Relations was selected by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). EACEA examined 1011 applications for participation in Jean Monnet activities 68 out of which are to be funded by the Foreign Policy Instrument (FPI) while 194 by Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Activities funds.
The Project is devoted to EU Regionalism and Foreign Policy and the activities are to be implemented in 2016-2019. The Chair holder is Professor Valery Mikhaylenko, Doctor of History. The members of the working group are Associate Professor Aleksandr Burnasov, PhD in History, Associate Professor Ekaterina Mikhaylenko, PhD in History, Associate Professor Ksenia Muratshina, PhD in History. The maximum amount of the European Union grant for this project is about 50 000 eu.
It should be noted that “EU Regionalism and Foreign Policy” is not the first Department’s Jean Monnet project supported by EACEA as Professor Olga Bogatyreva, Doctor of History, and Associate Professor Tabarintseva-Romanova, PhD in Philology, are Jean Monnet Module holders heading their projects “European Federalism and Regionalism” and “La politique culturelle e la diplomatie culturelle de lʼUnion Européenne” respectively.
