The world-class campus project of Ural Federal University was presented to Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the creation of new infrastructure projects will involve not only regions and students, but also representatives of business.
The infrastructure of the World University Summer Games-2023 may be supplemented with three educational buildings with a total area of 164.9 thousand square meters. The architecture of the educational spaces is designed for convenient project work, scientific research and the creation of breakthrough technologies.
"In modern classrooms and laboratories, IT students, undergraduate and graduate students, programs in economics, management and law, as well as talented schoolchildren - students of the specialized training and research center of UrFU - will study," said Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.
According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, the new student campuses will be multifunctional transformable learning and library spaces, including sports facilities and cultural and leisure spaces.
The Ural Federal University campus project was presented by Sverdlovsk Region Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev.
"The Sverdlovsk region is ready to participate in the implementation of the Russian President's order to create modern world-class campuses in the country. We have all the prerequisites for this. The regional government and the business community are already actively investing in the creation of the campus as a legacy of the World University Games. There will be a complex of student dormitories for 8,500 people, a stadium and a multifunctional center of Ural Federal University," said Evgeny Kuyvashev.
In addition, during the meeting, the governors of Tyumen, Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions, as well as the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, presented their campus projects. According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, all initiatives deserve attention and consideration.
"We decided to hold an additional strategic session, where we will discuss in detail all the applications from the regions. We are going to invite representatives of already existing world-class campuses, including foreign ones, our main customers, which are students and postgraduates, to participate in the discussion. It is very important that business should participate in creation of campuses," noted the vice prime minister.
