On March 26, 2022, within the framework of the UGI convention, the International Scientific Conference "Russia and the Countries of the World: Sustainable Development and Cooperation" was held. The working languages of the conference are related to the key areas of cooperation of the Ural Institute for the Humanities of the Ural Federal University: Russian, English, and Chinese. In the Global Challenges and Resilience section, students spoke mainly in English. Participants in addition to the students of our institute were students from the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Italian Republic.
Within the framework of the Global Challenges and Sustainability section, the following issues were discussed: China's Modern Diplomacy; The status of women in the countries of Central Asia; Industry, innovation and development infrastructure during the pandemic; The role of feminism in modern society and Italy; Causes and consequences of migration from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation; Trade and economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan; Impact of the event in beginning of the year on international relations between Kazakhstan and Russia; Problems of including ESG factors in the practice of Russian companies; Cooperation between Russia and Tunisia in the field of tourism; Sustainable development in the field of ecology.
The section "Russia and China: cooperation in a pandemic" was attended by students of the Ural Institute for the Humanities of the Ural Federal University of the Russian Federation and students of the Heilongjiang Institute of China. The main issues for discussion were: Economic cooperation between the regions of the Far East of the Russian Federation and China during the pandemic; Prospects for cooperation between Russia and China in the field of "green energy, higher education in the post-epidemic period; Russian export agricultural products to China; Chinese immigrants in the regions of the Russian Far East; Diplomatic relations between Russia and China; Chinese theories of international relations; Russian-Chinese international relations at the present stage. The report The Popularity of Chinese Authors in Russia, which was presented by Tang Huichao, aroused the greatest interest.
"The Ural Institute for the Humanities has extensive international humanitarian ties. Today, more than 1,000 foreign students study at the institute. More than 2,000 students study two foreign languages professionally at the institute. Holding conferences in foreign languages allows students to get to know each other's scientific research more closely, find common scientific interests, overcome language and cultural barriers." - noted Associate Professor of the Chair of Theory and History of International Relations Alexander Burnasov.
