As for the medal standings, here UrFU became the best among universities outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg. UrFU was among the leaders in such humanitarian areas as sociology (7th place), history and archeology (8th place), philology and journalism (11th place).
The rector of UrFU adds that in several areas the average Unified State Exam (USE) points of applicants on a budget have increased, as well as the number of achievements in science, including in the interests of industrial partners. It is also important that graduates have no major problems with employment after graduation from UrFU.
Promotion of Ural Federal University in the rankings in the humanities, according to Viktor Koksharov, is associated with the development of scientific schools, the dynamic growth in the pace of publication activity and the successful functioning of editorial offices that publish internationally recognized scientific journals.
"The Ural Institute of Humanities is rightfully considered to be the Mecca of the Ural. Dissertation councils work here, more than 60 international scientific events are held annually. The inclusion in the global and Russian scientific agenda with the support of developed scientific schools is a guarantee of success for humanities students at UrFU. Advancement in subject rankings in linguistics is due to major international conferences attended by Russian and foreign scientists," says the Head of UrFU.
Viktor Koksharov emphasizes that the Ural Federal University has high hopes for participation in the Priority 2030 program. Specialists of the Ural Institute for the Humanities of UrFU take part in the implementation of the strategic project "Human Well-Being in the Context of Digital Transformation".
