Iranian Ambassador in Russia Kazem Jalali visited the University
The collection of the Center for Iranian Studies and the Persian Language of the Ural Federal University will be replenished with new teaching aids, assistance will be provided by the Iranian Embassy - this was agreed today by the rector of the university Viktor Koksharov and the ambassador of the Islamic Republic Kazem Jalali.
“It is worth noting the genuine interest of our students in Iranian culture and the study of Farsi,” Viktor Koksharov said. “Therefore, since 2016, the center of Iranian studies has been operating at our university. In addition, we have something to offer Iranian scientific and educational organizations in the field of pharmaceuticals, radio electronics and other areas of science and technology.”
The head of the university emphasized that the recommendations prepared by UrFU scientists based on the results of joint work with the Sharif Technological University can be used to build a long-term strategy for the transition to the principles of sustainable economic development in the context of efficient use of natural resources.
“UrFU is an authoritative scientific center,” the ambassador is sure. “In the new geopolitical conditions, horizons of cooperation are opening up before our countries, which, taking into account the capabilities of your university, seem important to us.”

Now there are nine Iranians studying at UrFU; over the past five years, the university has prepared 54 scientific publications with 19 Iranian organizations. On May 20-21, 2016 UrFU hosted the IX Forum of Iranian Students.
The Center for Iranian Studies and the Persian Language was opened at UrFU on April 14, 2016 - the initiative of the university department of Oriental Studies was supported by the Cultural Representation of Iran in the Russian Federation. The center is equipped with multimedia equipment, there is a library with books in Persian.
