Professor of the Department of History of Philosophy, Philosophical Anthropology, Aesthetics and Theory of Culture of UrFU Alexander Pertsev became the winner of the national award "Professor of the Year - 2022" in the nomination "Philosophical Sciences". The Russian Professorial Assembly established the award. The award ceremony will take place on November 22 during the 5th Professorial Forum "Science and Education in the Context of Global Challenges" in Moscow.
Professor Pertsev is one of the well-known Russian philosophers and translators from German. Among his works are translations of works by German philosophers of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. Peter Sloterdijk's Critique of the Cynical Reason, translated by Pertsev, was recognized as the best philosophical publication of 2001 according to the Nezavisimaya Gazeta rating. To date, the book is a bestseller. In 2016, two translations - a monograph by R. Guardini on Hölderlin and dialogues by P. Sloterdijk - were nominated by the Nauka Publishing House (St. Petersburg) and the Ivan Limbach Publishing House (St. Petersburg) for the Goethe Institute Prize for the best translation of popular science literature, both were included in the top eight translations from German.
At UrFU, Alexander Pertsev lectures on philosophy, including the courses "History of Foreign Philosophy", "New Trends and Directions of Foreign Philosophy", special courses "Fundamentals of Oratory and Self-Presentation", "Philosophy of Power", "The Problem of Man in Nietzsche's Philosophy" , "History of Anthropological Doctrines", "Philosophy of International Relations".
