What will journalism be like in the next ten years? Representatives of the Faculty, freshmen Anastasia Razdobarina and Kirill Bazhanov, who, under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Periodicals and Online Publications Pavel Sumsky, tried to find an answer to this question together with the experts, took part in the winter interregional media forum "Vershina".
The forum was held from February 24 to 26 near the Miass city. The delegation of the university was presented at it for the first time.
For three days, more than 200 journalists, PR specialists and media managers from eight regions of the country listened to the speeches of speakers representing the federal media, exchanged views in an informal setting and discussed issues on topical issues of modern journalism.
Professionals shared their experience and various life hacks with the participants. Thus, Rinat Nizamov, director of content at Zen, a graduate of Ural Federal University, shared the story of his journey from a regional correspondent to a major media manager. Denis Polunchukov, host of the Vesti program on the Russia 1 TV channel, spoke about how to properly cover events so that they reach the federal level of the agenda.
A unique feature of the forum was that only half of the working time was devoted to the discussion of professional activities. Participants also competed for the Olga Davidenko Media Cup — karting, alpine skiing and snowboarding competitions were held.
The forum ended with a festive gala dinner, where the results of the competitions were announced and the winners of professional journalistic competitions were awarded. There was also a talent competition "Creative Freestyle", where student Kirill Bazhanov won first place with the song "Soli" by Adriano Celentano.
