Two books published by the UrFU publishing house were highly appreciated at the International Book Festival
August 25-27 in Yekaterinburg was held the international book festival "Red Line". Within the framework of the festival, the Book of the Year award was held. This award is presented to publishers and printers for the most creative and high-quality books released during the year. In total, 100 applicants participated in the 2023 competition, of which 15 best were selected.
In the nomination "The best edition of prose and poetry" won the book "Serious reflections on the life and amazing adventures of Robinson Crusoe" - the last part of the trilogy about the traveler. For the first time translated into Russian by researchers from the UrIH UrFU under the guidance of Vysokova Veronica (Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Modern and Contemporary History Chair). Defoe's novel about a sailor from York reflects the contradictory nature of the era of English history at the turn of the 17th-18th centuries, is in the conflict of two moral and ethical canons - Christian and bourgeois. The book is a collection of edifying essays and gives an idea of the moral and ethical values of the nonconformist Defoe.
In the nomination "Best scientific book" the publication "The Phenomenon of the Text" under the general editorship of Snigireva Tatyana (Doctor of Philology, Professor of Russian and Foreign Literature Chair) and Alexey Podchinenov (Associate Professor of Russian and Foreign Literature Chair) distinguished itself. In the monograph, for the first time, an attempt was made to systematically describe the concept of "overtext" in the aspect of phenomenology and psychology of artistic creativity. There is a fundamental distinction between over-text as a form of author's reflection and over-text as receptive practice.
